Here is a summary for most of what the average user will encounter:

♦ You may redesign a Vido at any time, as long as it still resembles the original and the traits do not total to more than the Vido's current ES.
♦ Registered Vido can be traded or resold, but price-gouging or repeatedly upselling for profit is considered rude!
♦ The recipient of a Vido must be verified and on-site to be traded to.
♦ You must be 18 years or older to participate in the site.
♦ Players may have ONE account each.
♦ The information Vidosphere collects includes cookies for some site functions, your email, and any information you put into the site yourself.

Vidosphere.net (we, us, our, the project) is a character design archive and community hub for a collection of designs known as Vido. By participating in Vidosphere.net or purchasing a registered Vido design, you agree to the terms outlined in this page. Repeated or severe breakage of the TOS will result in a ban or blacklist (see Bans & Blacklisting.) Changes to these terms will reflect in the "Last modified" date at the top.
To participate in Vidosphere you must be 18 years or older.
No exceptions!
The Vidosphere TOS is divided into the following sections:
Registered Vido are archived on Vidosphere’s Masterlist. A user is considered an owner of a registered Vido by Vidosphere once the Vido’s Masterlist entry is listed under their name.
As an owner, you may:
Develop personal stories, art, and lore for your Vido. Canon lore from this website may be integrated into these stories, but it is optional!
Use the Vido’s design in non-commercial artistic projects such as personal comics, crafts, and costumes.
Modify the Vido's masterlist image to a reasonable degree, following the Redesign Guide.
Trade or Resell the Vido to other users (See Sales, Trading, & Market Etiquette)
Reupload the design to other websites such as Toyhou.se or a personal blog (Credit should be given to the original artist and designer. Linking to Vidosphere is optional but encouraged.)
Remove the Vido's design from the species (see Voiding.)
Create “Alternate Universe” versions of the Vido. These should not be traded separately from the Vido’s base design to avoid issues in the future.
You may not:
Use Vido to promote hateful or discriminatory messages.
Use the Vido's base art for other designs (without permission)
Make commercial profit from the Vido (ex. selling mass T-shirt prints, pins, charms, or using it as a mascot for a company).
Unregistered Vido
Personal Vido may be made at any time, but are not useable on-site without registering them to the masterlist. While we do not control what an individual does with unregistered Vido outside of Vidosphere, we do enforce the following rules within Vidosphere’s communities:
Please do not create Vido specifically to sell for profit! To discourage this, any posts selling or offering unregistered Vido for trade will be removed from community market areas. Users found heavily abusing the project for personal gain may be blacklisted.
Unregistered Vido can be later registered on the site using a Relic, though must follow the site's trait and ES mechanics.
Unregistered Vido can be shared, developed, drawn, and posted online just like any other character.
Sales, Trading, & Market Etiquette
New, pre-made Vido may be obtained through sales from approved designers (guest artists.) Users may also trade their Vido amongst eachother.
To send a Vido to another user, use the Trade Hub. Trading a Vido will reset any progress on collections & professions (not implemented yet)! The Vido will not leave your ownership til they approve the trade request.
♦ Sales & Resales:
Buyers must be 18 years or older to purchase a Vido. Registered Vido will always have a masterlist entry already on-site, be wary of scams! Vidosphere is not responsible for fraudulent sales, always doublecheck the current owner.
Vidosphere does not track the value of individual characters. Please use your best judgement, and resell for close to what you obtained the Vido for. If the Vido was obtained through trade, the base price for most adoptables is around $65.
Sale posts for Vido that are not on the Masterlist will be removed from community areas such as the discord.
♦ Trading:
Vido may be traded for other Vido, goods, or creative services such as art.
Site items may be traded for other items, Vido, or items from other species. However, directly selling items for monetary value is discouraged and posts seeking cash for Vidosphere items will be removed from our markets.
The recipient of a Vido must have an account on vidosphere.net to be marked as the new owner.
If an artist cannot or refuses to complete their half of a trade, the trade is considered incomplete. If there is proof of no communication for over 6 months with an incomplete trade, the artist will be contacted and given a strike. Multiple instances of incompleted trades will result in a ban.
If an artist is in the middle of, willing and capable of completing their half an agreed-upon trade, the other party may not cancel if progress is already made. Backing out after agreeing to an art trade that is already in progress without mutual agreement on the cancellation will give the user that cancelled a strike if requested by the artist, and possibly a ban if this behavior is repeated. Vido will not be forcibly transferred away from their current owner.
In order to avoid the above scenarios, it’s recommended to transfer the Vido over once the art trade has reached an agreed-upon midway point (for example, once the lines are done) and pick offers from users that have a good amount of completed examples. Vidosphere is not responsible for ensuring that the results of creative services are satisfactory to the other party.
♦ Market Etiquette:
The following section is not as strictly enforced as the rest of the TOS, but repeated misconduct or abuse of the market may cause a staff member to reach out or even give a strike to the user.
Rapidly and repeatedly upselling or trading Vido for a “higher value” is often known as Foddering or Upselling. This is nuanced and we cannot enforce every instance of this, but repeatedly using Vidosphere for profit is discouraged.
Being clear in what you’re looking for is encouraged. Please do not use the market simply for entertainment!
Be clear and corteous when offering and accepting trades! For example, "I will offer a colored fullbody with shading" clearly outlines what you will be doing to complete the trade, while "I will offer a fullbody" can leave room for misinterpretation.
Take time to think things over! It's okay to ask for time to decide on an offer before being sure you're happy with it -- waiting til you're sure instead of impulsively trading minimizes the chances of regret!
User Conduct & Content
Users are expected to behave in a respectful manner, including any custom content they post on Vidosphere. Users that are found posting inflammatory, discriminatory, overtly explicit or shock-value content may have their content deleted and a strike given. Vidosphere is not a host for content such as pedophilia, bestiality, rape, etc. Repeated disturbances will result in a ban.
Users can add their own content via areas such as profile bios and Vido art. See our User Content & Submissions tab to read more on allowed content in Vidosphere.
Our content is provided as-is for personal use to users 18 or over. Content that a User owns (such as Vido or other characters under their account) may also be used non-commercially elsewhere by the user. Vido are subject to specific rules within the service (see General Rules tab.) Users may not reproduce or copy our services and content without given permission. Users may not attempt to modify or break the services for personal gain or otherwise. Disruptive attempts to access restricted areas or locked content will result in a ban. Users may not use any of our communication systems to harass or harm others on the platform. Users may report any form of harassment at our Reception area. We retain the right to refuse, remove or alter content that is illegal, harassment, or discrimatory. We have the right to store, process, alter, reproduce and display content that you submit to us-- this is so that we may trim and resize images and display them on the masterlist or your profile.
Voiding
If you no longer wish for your Vido to be part of the species, you may Void your Vido -- this will permanently remove its entry from public view. Once voided, you may treat the Vido as a one-off (a design that isn't part of the species) but it can no longer be brought back into the species. To void a Vido, contact admin in Reception.
Modifications & Interruptions
Vidosphere, including this TOS, is provided as-is and will continue to have multiple changes and adjustments. Vidosphere's service may be interrupted or halted at any time.
The latest date the TOS has been modified is displayed at the top of this document.
We will maintain certain data that you transmit to the Services for the purpose of managing the performance of the Services, as well as data relating to your use of the Services. Although we perform regular routine backups of data, you are solely responsible for all data that you transmit or that relates to any activity you have undertaken using the Services. You agree that we shall have no liability to you for any loss or corruption of any such data, and you hereby waive any right of action against us arising from any such loss or corruption of such data.
Bans & Blacklisting
Accounts that have severely broken the rules outlined in this TOS may be banned or blacklisted from the Vidosphere service. Banned users cannot participate in events, claim bundles, receive new Vido or items, or purchase adopts. Banned users may also be blacklisted from services provided by notecardPasta at their discretion.

User Content & Submissions

Users may upload their own content in a variety of spots on the site, including profile bios, explorer bios, Vido images and prompt submissions.
The rules below apply to any content uploaded to the site by users. Case-by-case rules such as file format and art requirements will be detailed in their respective areas onsite.
General Content Rules:
While Vidosphere contains content warnings for depictions of drawn gore and horror, users should be considerate of others when adding content to public-facing areas of the site. If you are not sure what is too much, you may contact an admin to ask!
✔ What is allowed on-site:
✔ Cartoony, drawn or otherwise non-photorealistic gore
✔ Artistic nudity and mild sexual references (I.E. Referencing sex work is ok, but refrain from depicting it here)
✔ Art commissioned from others for use in bios, given credit
✔ Links to personal websites/galleries, petsites, or social media (be careful putting personal information on the internet!)
✘ What is NOT allowed on-site:
✘ Intense photorealistic or real-life images of graphic injury or mutiliation
✘ Explicit content depicting genitalia or intercourse
✘ Content depicting or referring to pedophilia, bestiality, rape, or incest
✘ Religious or Political propoganda or calls to recruitment
✘ Automatically Generated art and writing such as from an "AI assisant" or LLM / neural network. There are no minimum requirements for art, there is no reason to have something else generate it for you!
✘ Identifying information for real-life individuals, including selfies or addresses
✘ "Callouts" of specific users, drama-stirring, "wishlists" of already-homed Vido
✘ Inflammatory statements meant to stir arguements, or "bait"
✘ Links to illegal content, malware, or shock websites
Submission Rules:
Prompt submissions should follow the general content rules above, as well as the guidelines below. Some prompts may have more specific rules, which will be detailed on the prompt itself.
Submissions must be original pieces made to answer the question or topic the prompt is offering. They should not be direct copies of previous submissions unless entirely redone. The requirements below may be updated in the future upon further development of the ARPG.
Submissions do not need to adhere strictly to Vidosphere canon. For example, if a prompt requires a Vido to delve into a hot cave filled with steam, but your Vido lives in an ice castle, you may change the prompt to have them discover a secret basement filled with strange fog. You may alter the setting to fit your own as long as the core conflict or theme of the prompt is addressed.
Automatically-generated art and LLM writing are not accepted on this site. Your work must be your own.
Art Requirements
For art, submissions must be legible and should be made in response to the prompt. There is no hard minimum requirement aside from visibly addressing the prompt.
Many styles and mediums are accepted including 2D, 3D work, crafts, and animations.
Bases or reused lines are not accepted, and 3D work must have at least one new asset or texture per submission! You may use collage/photomanipulation techniques, but please make sure any assets are free to use and that they are supplementing an original composition.
Writing Requirements
Writing must also be original and address the prompt in some way. Writing currently does not have a minimum wordcount, but short, non-descriptive prose may be sent back with more questions to answer!
Many styles of writing are allowed, including prose, poetry, fake articles such as newspapers and diaries, and song lyrics.
Art and Writing do not have to be separate, and may accompany one another in prompts such as an artpiece with poetry written in it or illustrated stories.
